Salary: £15.00 per hour or £120 per day
Contract: Approximately this works out as around 30 days per year on a freelance contract
Hours: Variable according to seasonal need.

About The Role
Supernormal is seeking an enthusiastic bookkeeper with experience of working with small organisations to help support and manage the finances for Supernormal and be a part of our team!
You will be responsible for supporting the core festival team in the improvement of our financial systems and our management reporting, alongside supporting our seasonal financial operations.
The position will provide guidance and hands on support to the entire festival team and work closely with the festival directors.

Responsibilities
Developing processes and best practice
Supporting the Supernormal team in developing robust processes and procedures to manage the festival finances, both in planning and post-festival periods.
Bookkeeping
You will be responsible for reconciling our accounts in Xero against invoices and receipts that are provided by the team via email and imported using Hubdoc.
Paying and issuing invoices
You will be responsible for making payment for invoices that we receive and invoice third parties for services that we provide. You will be responsible for issuing invoices from Xero, monitoring payments, and issuing preliminary reminders to debtors.
Reimbursing expenses
You will be responsible for recording and reimbursing team expenses. You will ensure that team bank cards are topped up in line with agreed budgets, and support the team in ensuring VAT receipts are upheld.
Accounts
Working closely with our accountant to prepare our VAT reports within our timelines.

Supernormal is an annual event. This means that the nature of this job is seasonal.
Note that the time estimates below are a guide only and are based on our experience of having done this ourselves historically. In some months there may be slightly more or less work than is specified.
Quiet months: October to May (1 day per month, weekly check-in via email)
Pre-festival months: June to August (2-3 days per month)
The festival period: Late July/early-mid August (10-day period for the festival, estimating 1 hour per day)
Post-festival months: Around 4-6 weeks after the festival, August to September (6-8 days per month)

Person Specification – Who we’re looking for
Experience of working as a bookkeeper or within a similar financial role
Organised with ability to prioritise and manage varied workloads
Used to and happy working in small community teams
Commitment to working with empathy and understanding varied priorities within a team
